Clémentine joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in July 2016 as the Network Manager for the New Plastics Economy, looking after the participants (and potential participants) of the initiative, and her role also extends to the organisation’s Circular Fibres Initiative.

Jon is a co-innovation partner at Interface with a focus on sustainability, inclusive business and intrapreneurship. A member of the Interface’s Co-innovation team since 2012, Jon has been part of a team building a culture at Interface that promotes collaboration, ideation and the acceleration of great ideas.

Jon is also a member of the Net-Works Steering Committee. Net-Works is a project that has seen Interface partner with the Zoological Society of London to create a community-based supply chain for discarded fishing nets in the Philippines and Cameroon. Jon has been involved with the project since its pilot phase in 2012 and he has been involved in the oversight of Interface’s role in relation to developing Net-Works strategy, operations, partnership brokering and communications.

Adam is head of sustainability at Surfdome and the SurfStitch group, the world’s largest action sport retailer.

He has spent almost his entire working life weaving his way through every aspect of the surfing industry, eventually taking a break from the industry and founding an environmental company aiding business to become more sustainable.

Adam is now combining both his passions and is currently in the process of ‘Greening ‘the company, with a key focus on single use plastic. More than 30 tonnes of plastic has already been removed internally, and Adam is also using the company’s influence to catalyse change in the industry it operates.

Gian De Belder

Principal Scientist, Procter & Gamble (P&G)

In his 19 year career at P&G, Gian has helped drive R&D into sustainable packaging across the company. With experience in upstream technologies, sustainable resins and EU funding projects, Gian has been involved in developing key partnerships across the value chain and managing open innovation through P&G’s Connect & Develop Programme.

To help drive cross-sector collaboration, Gian is a board member of Petcore Europe (the association representing the complete PET value chain in Europe), co-chairman of the Packaging Task Force at the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products. Gian is also active in other industry associations such as the Extended Producer Responsibility Alliance.

Most recently, Gian is helping lead a pioneering project on the standardisation of markers/watermarks in packaging (barcode for recycling), to increase efficiencies in high-quality sorting and to strive for higher recycling rates, as part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy initiative.
